Shatter is a type of cannabis oil where the texture is a glass, snappy, less sticky texture compared to other textures of wax. This type of cannabis oil is very sought after by certain types of dab consumers. This texture tends to be less smelly in terpenes, however it tends to preserve and hold on the terpenes for a longer period of time. For example the badder texture of wax tends to smell a lot more in the jar but loses that smell after 8-10 months of storage. Shatter will have more % of the terpenes still in the wax after 8-10 months, that being said keeping the shatter texture from turning into sugar is extremely hard to do with a longer time of storage.
